CHANTECLAIRE FARM WEDDING: JESSICA AND JEFF
JESS POPPED INTO THE STORE DURING THE LAWRENCEVILLE JOY OF COOKIES TOUR THE FIRST WINTER THAT GLITTER & GRIT WAS OPEN. SHE TRIED ON A HANDFUL OF DRESSES, AND KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHEN SHE PULLED ON THE "JUST SOUFFLE" THAT THIS WAS HER DRESS. THE TOUCH OF FUN AND WHIMSY WAS JUST A PERFECT COMPLIMENT TO HER LIGHTHEARTED PERSONALITY, AND IT FIT SO WELL WITH HER WEDDING AT CHANTECLAIRE FARM IN MARYLAND!

WHEN YOU TRIED ON YOUR DRESS, HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS THE ONE?
It was almost like when Cinderella tried on her glass slipper. When I decided to go dress shopping, I knew right away that I wanted to find my dress in Glitter & Grit. I had passed Glitter & Grit many times on my shuttle ride to and from work and there was just something about the way the sunlight beamed through the window magnifying all of the delicate details of the dresses that captivated me. I think my dress was the second or third one that I tried on. I knew it was the one when I didn't want to take it off!! Like putting my foot in a glass slipper.
WHAT WAS YOUR GROOM'S REACTION TO SEEING YOU IN IT?
Jeff is a cool, calm and collected kind of guy and I don't really remember much of a reaction at the time. Luckily, we have pictures that captured a big cheesing grin and a sincere look in his eyes! He looked genuinely happy.
PLEASE TELL US YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT JEFF...
I have so many favorite things about Jeff. I love that we are a team and complement each other so well. Together, I feel like we can do anything. He has been so supportive of me over the years I don't know what I would do without him. His ability to be a team player in our relationship makes me love him more and more each day.
DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY TRADITIONS INTO YOUR WEDDING?
We did some of the basic traditions like cake cutting, father-daughter dance and the mother-son dance. However, everybody was grooving so much during the reception that other than the two dances mentioned previously, not one slow song was played the entire night! My DJ said everybody looked like they were having such a good time he didn't want to stop the fun! Jeff and I were totally okay with that! Some of the traditional things that we didn't do were the bouquet and garter toss. In fact I didn't even wear a garter!!
PLEASE DESCRIBE THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE DAY.
This is such a hard question! The entire day was so memorable!!! I think I am going to go with the father-daughter dance. Secretly, my dad and I had met about 7 or 8 times in the month leading up to the wedding to practice a choreographed dance we put together to a medley of fun, upbeat songs half way through our slow song. Jeff was the only person who knew (because I am terrible at keeping secrets!). My mom didn't know, my sister didn't know, my best friends didn't know.. nobody! We started off dancing to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. Half way through, I was dipped, spun, and then we busted out into our first song of the medley which was Black & Yellow by Wiz Khalifa. My guests went nuts! Nobody had expected this! It was so much fun and we nailed it! I think we really set the stage for the dance floor! Afterwards, my mom and best friend were speechless! They couldn't believe we kept it a secret from them the entire time. My mom even confessed she was getting concerned some of those times my dad was making up excuses that he had things to do when he was really meeting me to practice! It was such a fun moment and watching the video is hilarious.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES?
The best advice I can give is to have fun during the entire process. It really is quite a journey and if you don't have fun with the planning, you will miss out on so much! Try not to sweat the small things. Nobody really cares about all the meticulous details so don't stress yourself out! Your wedding should be one of your top memorable evenings, so step back for a few minutes and take it all in. It is an amazing feeling to look around and see so many family and friends in one place celebrating your love and happiness. Cherish those moments.
