Maryland Wedding: Juliana and Tyler
Juliana traveled to Glitter & Grit in search of one dress: Daughters of Simone's Lu, and she was not disappointed. After trying on a few more, everyone knew that it was exactly the right choice for her. Outgoing, yet soft-spoken and sweet, Juliana epitomizes the romance and tenacity of a Daughters of Simone bride.
WHEN YOU TRIED ON YOUR DRESS, HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS THE ONE?
Even through trying on multiple dresses and countless designers, I could not get Daughters of Simone's "Lu" out of my head. I kept a close eye on their trunk shows, but thought I wouldn't be able to wear it because there were never any locations around me. Thankfully, Glitter and Grit started carrying "Lu"! I immediately planned the trip from Annapolis, MD to try it on. I was open to trying on other dresses, but I was fairly certain that I would come home with the dress. Before I could even see myself up on the pedestal, I saw my parents and my friends faces light up, and I knew this had to be the one. It just felt right wearing it. I felt mystical and beautiful. It was a bohemian style that I wanted, but still elegant and dressy enough for a bride. I am so thankful that Erin was able to help me find the dress I knew I wanted!
WHAT WAS YOUR GROOM'S REACTION TO SEEING YOU IN IT?
(STRAIGHT FROM TYLER, HIMSELF - HOW SWEET!) After walking down the aisle to one of my most favorite songs, seeing the platform and altar set up beneath the gleaming sunset, hearing the gentle breeze rustle through the trees, surrounded by our loved ones, I was in a state of complete euphoria. Just this scene alone was enough to put me on the verge of tears out of the sheer beauty of the day and the event unfolding before me. The only sight that could've possibly trumped my initial feelings was when Jude walked down the aisle. Once she came into sight, I couldn't look away from how stunningly gorgeous she looked in the bright sunlight. She glowed radiantly, in every sense imaginable. She appeared almost as a woodland goddess. I was instantly overwhelmed and had to breathe as slowly as possible. I loved every detail of her wedding attire, she appeared so elegant and timeless.
PLEASE TELL US YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TYLER...
My favorite thing about Tyler is how genuine of a person he is. He is fully present and engaged in every situation, every relationship, and every hobby he has. This translates into our marriage through how well he takes care of me, pursues me, and challenges me.
DID YOU INCORPORATE ANY TRADITIONS INTO YOUR WEDDING?
My heritage is Swedish, so in passing I had researched some traditions to incorporate into our wedding. Being that we did not want to have seating arrangements, finding the Swedish tradition of long tables with non-arranged seating was ideal. Instead of typical unity ceremony, Tyler and I chose to wash each others feet as a symbol of love, humility, and service to the other person. This was one of my favorite moments of our ceremony.
PLEASE DESCRIBE THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF THE DAY.
My most memorable moment was walking down the aisle towards Tyler with my father. Our ceremony began at sunset, so the light was perfectly reflected off the water and through the trees. I was truly overwhelmed by the beauty of the scene. I was adamant that my father lift my veil for me and hand me over to Tyler. This was a very traditional but symbolic part of our ceremony that I know meant a lot to my father. Another favorite moment was when Tyler and I walked into our reception. Here we were finally able to just relax together and be able to see all of our guests. I was overjoyed!
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES?
My advice for future brides would be to accept all the help that you can get! Friends and family love to be a part of your wedding day- let them help you along! You can't do it all even though I know you wish you could.
