Q. What is the price range of your dresses?
A. Our dresses range in price from $1,200-$4,800. Most of our dresses fall in the $2,500-$3,500 range.
Q. What sizes are your dress samples?
A. most of our samples range between sizes 8-12. we zip and clip dresses so that you can get a clear picture of how the dress will look in the proper size for you. depending on style and silhouette that you are interested in, we can typically accommodate sizes 0-20. please note that trunk show sample sizes are chosen by the designer, and can often be more in the range of sizes 4-6.
Q. How long is my appointment?
A. Each appointment is 90 minutes long. This is the perfect amount of time to browse our dress selection, try on a great variety of styles, and take your time making a decision. There's no reason to rush through the most fun part of wedding planning!
Q. How many guests should I bring with me?
A. It's tempting to include as many friends, loved ones, and soon-to-be relatives in this fun day, but sometimes it can be hard to stay focused and true to yourself if there are too many people chiming in. Our boutique is cozy, so 2-4 key people who will be honest - yet supportive - is perfect. Please let us know if you will be bringing a larger party with you so that we can make sure to have enough seating for everyone to hang out comfortably. we can provide seating to accommodate up to 6 guests; if you have more, some people may need to stand.
Q. can we bring champagne?
A. absolutely. feel free to celebrate to the fullest! we ask that you refrain from bringing red wine and greasy foods, but you are welcome to bring refreshments. we typically have disposable cups, plates, and napkins on hand, should you need them.
Q. What should I bring with me?
A. Please remember your senses of adventure and wonder! While not everyone dreams of their wedding day their whole life (I certainly didn't!), I don't know anyone who doesn't love to play dress up. Feel free to bring photos of wedding dresses that you love. On a more practical note, you will probably want to bring any shapewear, undergarments, or shoes that you plan on wearing on your wedding day (but none of those are necessary).
Q. Will I need alterations, and do you provide them in-house?
A. Once your selection has been made, an order will be placed in the size closest to your measurements; alterations will most likely be needed, to get the perfect fit on your wedding day. Glitter & Grit does not provide in-house alterations, but there are a few local seamstresses that we can recommend. There aren't any required alterations packages, which means you only pay for what you need to have done to make your dress fit like a dream.
Q. Where is Glitter & Grit located?
A. The boutique is conveniently located in the fantastic neighborhood of Lawrenceville, on the corner of 53rd & Butler Streets. There is free street parking right in front of the shop. If you're making a day out of your visit, I highly recommend you check out the shops and restaurants nearby:
