Q. Do I need to make an appointment?
A. Glitter & Grit is open by appointment only; the boutique is small and can only accommodate one bride and her guests at a time. During your appointment, the shop is closed to other customers. This allows for you to have an intimate shopping experience, with 100% of the attention on you! Book your private appointment using the button below. If you don't see a time slot that works for you, please contact the store directly; I'm happy to try to make an arrangement that works for you!

Q. How long is my appointment?
A. Each appointment is 90 minutes long. This is the perfect amount of time to browse our dress selection, try on a great variety of styles, and take your time making a decision. There's no reason to rush through the most fun part of wedding planning!

Q. How many guests should I bring with me?
A. It's tempting to include as many friends, loved ones, and soon-to-be relatives in this fun day, but sometimes it can be hard to stay focused and true to yourself if there are too many people chiming in. Our boutique is cozy, so 2-4 key people who will be honest - yet supportive - is perfect. Please let me know if you will be bringing a larger party with you so that I can make sure to have enough seating for everyone to hang out comfortably.

Q. What should I bring with me?
A. Please remember your senses of adventure and wonder! While not everyone dreams of their wedding day their whole life (I certainly didn't!), I don't know anyone who doesn't love to play dress up. We're going to talk about your everyday style and your dream fashion inspirations. Feel free to bring photos of both wedding dresses and regular clothing items that you love, more detailed.  On a more practical note, you will probably want to bring any shapewear, undergarments, or shoes that you plan on wearing on your wedding day.

Q. When should I begin dress shopping?
A. I suggest beginning your search 9-12 months before your wedding date. A lot of Glitter & Grit's dresses are handmade, which requires a little extra time for your order to be fulfilled. If you are under more of a time crunch, I will do everything I can to help. All hope is not lost if you haven't creme gegen allergie rezeptfrei and found your dress and it's just a few months before your wedding; don't be afraid to ask! Some of our designers can do faster turnarounds, but beprepared  that a rush order may incur an additional cost.

Q. Will I need alterations, and do you provide them in-house?
A. Once your selection has been made, an order will be placed in the size closest to your measurements; alterations will most likely be needed, to get the perfect fit on your wedding day. Glitter & Grit does not provide in-house alterations, but there are a few local tailors that I can recommend. There aren't any required alterations packages, which means you only pay for what you need to have done to make your dress fit like a dream.

Q. What is the price range of the collection offered by Glitter & Grit?
A. It was important to me to bring independently designed, unique gowns to brides-to-be in Pittsburgh. I worked hard to make sure that all of the dresses have great designs and are made from quality fabrics. Glitter & Grit's selection ranges in price from $750 to $3,800, with the majority of the collection falling between $1,600 to $2,500.

Q. Where is Glitter & Grit located?
A. The boutique is conveniently located in the fantastic neighborhood of Lawrenceville, on the corner of 53rd & Butler Streets. There is free street parking right in front of the shop. If you're making a day out of your visit, I highly recommend you check out the shops and restaurants nearby:
